📚 Indie Bookstore Day 📚
And three ways you can participate!
Every April, thousands of booksellers across the United States celebrate Indie Bookstore Day!
This year’s celebration—the 12th annual—is on Saturday, April 26. This is my second Indie Bookstore Day as an author, and I’m thrilled to be join in on the festivities.
I love this because it encourages supporting local businesses—booksellers, authors, vendors, and more. And it creates connection and community among readers much more than a certain rainforest-inspired mega-corporation.
Here are three ways you can participate, wherever you are.
Find an indie bookstore near you!
Check out this handy map featuring 1,600+ stores across all 50 states from the American Booksellers Association. Grab your partner/children/friends/unsuspecting neighbors and go browse the shelves for your next read. Most of these stores will be running events, giveaways, and other specials!
Central Florida friends, check out any of these stores: Writer's Block Bookstore; White Rose Books & More; Polly Seymour New Leaf Bookstore; Barrel of Books and Games; Authentic Books; Spellbound Bookstore; Sunshine Book Co.
Central NC friends, MonkeyKat Books is a newer bookstore worth checking out!
Support any indie bookstore from your couch!
If you’re stuck at home or far from any indie bookstores, don’t fret—that’s where Bookshop.org comes in.
It’s super simple: go to the website, choose an indie bookstore to support, and get whatever books you want! The bookstore you choose to support will get a cut of the profits. It’s literally as easy as shopping on that rainforest app I mentioned earlier.
Come say hi at Spellbound Bookstore!
I’ll be celebrating the day at Spellbound Bookstore in Sanford, FL from 11:30-2:30 with some other amazing authors. Come find your next fantasy reads.

Next week: SPOOKY THREEQUEL title reveal and beta reader call.
Happy Indie Bookstore Day!
