đź–Š Calling All Beta Readers!

One countdown ends, another begins.

It’s almost time for it to be time for time.

…that makes sense, right?

Calling All Beta Readers!

I’m looking for six beta readers to read an advance copy of Codename SPOOKY! As newsletter subscribers, you get first dibs before I put out the call on social media. My ideal beta reader:

  • Enjoys YA fantasy that’s light on romance but heavy on relationships, intrigue, adventure, and twists

  • Can complete the book in three weeks (it’s a little over 100,000 words)

  • Will provide basic feedback—i.e., overall story impressions—and a brief written review (1-2 sentences)

If you sign up to be a beta reader, you’ll get:

  • The title reveal!

  • An eBook/PDF download of the current draft

  • Access to a Google Drive doc where you can leave comments as you read (optional)

It’s first come, first serve, so respond to this email now if you’re interested!

Not sure what the context for this is, so I’m pretending it’s “you upon reading this email.”

Writing Updates

Codename SPOOKY: Revisions are 100%, totally, and completely done!*

*They’re not done. But I’ve done everything I can without the input of beta readers. You’ll see a new progress bar above—this tracks the book’s journey from the current beta reader phase to the Kickstarter campaign launching in a few months. After that, we’ll be counting down the worldwide release of Ma—I mean, Codename SPOOKY. Whoops, almost let it slip ;)

Codename SPOOKY SEQUEL: Now that I’m FINALLY finishing up revisions on Codename SPOOKY and taking a break between editing clients, I’m ready to return to drafting. I’ve been tweaking my outline with some delicious plot points and pivotal moments.

Despite being an author, I can’t properly express in words how excited I am to get this book into your hands, let alone both books. So I found another GIF.

Like this, but more and bigger and also more.
