the plot twist
and what it means for you.
Every good story needs a plot twist.
You know that moment when the unexpected grabs you by the wrist and drags you in a whole new direction? I love those moments. I write them sometimes. And I have one for you today.
If you’ve opened any of my emails over the last few months, you know that I’m running a Kickstarter. Was running a Kickstarter—the campaign ended yesterday. I’ll delve into the stats another time, but it was a resounding success.
Many of you helped me make this dream a reality. But one of the sticking points of running a Kickstarter campaign is that it’s limited. Threads of Light ran for 17 days and not a second more. If you haven’t backed the project yet, unfortunately, you missed your chance.
Or did you?
What if I told you…
…that Kickstarter has introduced Late Pledges?
And that some pledge items are still available right now?
And that you can still get ebooks, limited editions, and Nightlight stuffies for a limited time?
It’s true, it’s true, and it’s true.
How long will Late Pledges stay open? Maybe a week or so. I haven’t decided, but I would love to get our funding all the way to $5,000.
Because if we reach that stretch goal, I get to do something I’ve been excited about for months: write a murder-mystery novella for you.
Backers already get a free short story eBook, new character artwork, and an exclusive livestream with a giveaway. Plus, every limited edition comes with illustrated covers and endpapers, ribbon bookmarks, and coded messages for you to decipher.
And did I mention the stuffies?
Soon this Kickstarter will end for real, and we’ll get back to our regular programming of writing updates and silly/poignant anecdotes.
Until then…your move.
