šŸŽµ One week! šŸŽµ

Plus, I coined a catchy new acronym.

Weirdly, this GIF resembles me as I type this newsletter at a window table at Starbucks. The main difference? SpongeBob lives at the bottom of the ocean, while Orlando’s humidity only FEELS like being underwater.

ā€œIs the Kickstarter over yet?ā€

Great question! See above šŸ˜‚

In one week and (checks watch) five hours, the campaign for Marrow and Soul ends. It’s been a resounding success so far:

Our current stretch goal is $3000. Once we get there, we’ll unlock an exclusive short story for Kickstarter backers! After that, I have some incredible artwork commissioned.

If you’ve already backed the Kickstarter: first, you rock. Second, you can go to the Kickstarter page and click ā€œManage your pledgeā€ at the top to change your level or add on cool stuff.

If you’re on the fence about forking over funds, let me return to my Baptist roots with a trio of alliterative arguments:

1. SWAGIYPINTDOS = Stuff We All Get If You Pledge In The Next Day Or So

Kickstarter lets me offer flash goals with a time limit. This one expires Thursday morning. You can get a hardcover AND an eBook AND a bookmark AND four (4!) stickers from the books: Curt, Nightlight, Cartoon Nightlight, and Wyvern—but the deal ends when it ends.

p.s. if you caught the error in my acronym…why are you still here? Go to the Kickstarter already!

2. Shirt. That’s it, that’s the post.

On Friday, I’m dropping a new shirt available to Kickstarter backers! Alongside two other Secret Merch items—Curt’s mug and the I Hungry shirt—this will be available for anyone buying a paperback or higher.

THIS close.

3. Sweet Foil, Bro

Except mine, ya know, won’t say ā€œFour Seasons at Camelback.ā€

I’m already printing wonderful limited editions with Pearl Blue cloth linen covers and full-color illustrations. But if we can get 25 backers in the top three tiers (i.e., the ones that get limited editions), I’ll add gold foil stamping like the picture above to the covers and spines.

The good news? We’re already at 15!

If you want to snag a gorgeous book with a great story inside, this is your chance.

Can we get back to Progress Bars?

Please.

New bars, who’s calling?

(You already know about the Kickstarter stuff, so I’ll skip that…)

Codename SPOOKY SEQUEL // Alpha reads are almost done, and I have 3,000 words and counting in my revision notes doc. I’m on track to start developmental edits in January, just before Marrow and Soul releases to the public!

Codename SPOOKY THREEQUEL // What’s this? A new contender?

The paradigm shifts. That’s all I’ll say about this one right now.

Codename VESPER // I love crafting my Safran stories, but Vesper’s world has my heart at the moment. Maybe it’s because I’ve spent so long working on this Kickstarter, but this story gives me a brand new world to explore. I can’t wait to share more…but naturally, that’s exactly what I’m doing.

Also on Kickstarter!

Join an amateur sleuth, her enthusiastic cheese club, and a beleaguered Mountie in charge of law enforcement as they solve murders.

That concludes this newsletter equivalent of a children’s picture book. Don’t forget to check out the Kickstarter!

Later,

Addison
